10-Day New Member Experience: Day 3 — Get the Most Out of Your Prescription Drug Benefits

If you take one or more medications every day, it’s important to have a solid understanding of your Medicare Advantage pharmacy benefits. Start here.

Medications can be a big part of your health care expenses, so it’s good to know how your pharmacy benefits work. A little extra knowledge in this area can help you not only save money but also manage existing health conditions.

You can fill your covered prescription drugs at any of the thousands of network retail pharmacies in your UnitedHealthcare® Medicare Advantage plan. (Except in some emergencies, medications may not be covered at pharmacies that are not in your network.) Or you can set up home delivery — a nice upside if you take more than one medication on a regular basis.

Setting up home delivery is simple:

  1. Sign in to plan website
  2. Go to the Pharmacies & Prescriptions tab
  3. Follow the instructions
